Next, we begin developing the design.
This is where individual ideas become one complete look.
We consider not only whether a detail is beautiful but how all of the elements work together. The proportions of a neckline affect the bodice. The bodice affects the skirt. Fabric influences movement, structure, drape, and ultimately the entire personality of the gown.

Fabric is one of our favorite parts of the process because it can completely transform a design.
Silk duchess satin creates an entirely different gown than silk chiffon. Organza behaves differently from tulle. Mikado creates structure, while charmeuse creates fluidity.
Even two fabrics that look similar in photographs can move completely differently in person.
For a custom gown, we select materials based on both the aesthetic and the engineering of the design.

Think of it as the architectural prototype of your wedding dress.

It allows us to refine the gown on your actual body before constructing the final garment.
A drawing can show us how a gown should look. A muslin helps us determine exactly how that design needs to be built for you.
