Allison and Danny

Allison and Danny's wedding day was a whirlwind adventure! These two lovebirds are used to thrill as they operate a successful horse racing company every weekend in Oklahoma City. They love the outdoors, adventure, and fun, so their wedding day had to equal or surpass their already exciting lives.

Allison approached me the beginning of September and had simply beautiful ideas of what she wanted her dress to look like. Our inspiration phrase was "Ralph Lauren meets rustic chic". I immediately grasped Allison's vision, the only catch; she was eloping in less than 6 weeks on a mountainside in Estes Park, Colorado!

Our team wasted no time creating Allison's gown. Lucinda, (our head seamstress), quickly created Allison's pattern that was unique to her, alone. I began sourcing the luxurious laces and silk materials from which the dress would be constructed. The base of Allison's dress would be made of a stretch, hand-dyed taffeta which provided much needed comfort and warmth.  Completely covering the taffeta would be an exquisite Guipure lace which had to be very strategically thought-out to avoid losing any of the movement especially needed for this dress.

Once the pattern was ready and the fabrics on-site, it was time to start sewing! We created a fitted sheath silhouette that hugged Allison's every curve. The neckline is a high jeweled neckline, covered with lace to create a high collar. The long sleeves are fitted with a delicate scalloped cuff at the end. To complete the dress, we added a simple sweep train that had a hand loop sewn to the underside so Allison could still have plenty of movement.

Six weeks flew by so fast and we were all ecstatic with the outcome! October 24th, on a cold Colorado afternoon, Allison started her wedding day hike to marry the love of her life! Allison, Danny, and a few of their closest friends and family met on top of a mountain where the two became one.

This whirlwind elopement was an adventure from beginning to end. Congratulations, Allison and Danny! Thank you for the pleasure and privilege of being a part of your special day!
